Chiropractic Care

Standard chiropractic care involves a plethora of approaches to promote optimal motion in the soft tissue and joint structures. Our doctors will first do an initial exam to assess your current function and determine the suited care for your own health needs. Our philosophy is to provide evidence informed and patient centered care that helps improve function and movement in the most efficacious manner possible. If need be, our doctors may refer you for extra imaging or testing to help inform their decisions. Chiropractors receive formal training in treating and managing neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Most doctors of chiropractic, utilize manual therapy by the means of an adjustment to help assist in mobilizing and improve function in the region of concern. Adjustments (joint manipulation) is a safe and effective way to assist in non-pharmacological pain management, the use of an adjustment is determined based on the discretion of the doctor. Our practice can help treat most spinal and extremity neuromusculoskeletal conditions. At your initial consult our doctors will clarify whether or not they can help manage your case, if not they will refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Shockwave Therapy 

Shockwave Therapy also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a minimally invasive treatment used to help assist in the  treatment of several orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. Such conditions include but are not limited to: plantar fasciitis, tennis and golfer's elbow, shoulder tendinopathies, achilles tendinopathy, acute strain/sprains and many more. From a physiological standpoint, ESWT helps block pain pathways that are inflamed, and long-term increased blood flow to the treatment area.  ESWT is used without anesthetia and does not produce heat in the treatment region. If appropriate for your case, your doctor may recommend ESWT to further and promote increased healing.  Spectrum Chiropractic is one of the few providers in San Diego. We proudly use Piezowave 2 and StorzMedical RSW devices.

Cold Laser Therapy

Lasers have been used for over 40 years to treat various conditions. The laser we use is called “Cold laser” which is a class 3b low level laser therapy, emitting red (637nm) and infrared (808nm) wavelengths of light. These wavelengths are strong enough to penetrate soft tissues and stimulate biomarkers within the mitochondria of your cells. Metabolism is stimulated which contributes to the healing and growth process. The painless cold laser treatment not only promotes healing in the region of concern but helps diminish the symptoms of inflammation or pain. The tissues targeted experience an analgesic (numbing) sensation and reduced pain with successive treatments. The short treatment times make cold laser a convenient additional treatment to other soft tissue treatments. Cold laser has been used as an adjunct therapy to treat: chronic low back pain, carpal tunnel pain, headaches, plantar fasciitis post-operative pain, scar tissue, tendonitis and much more.

Rehab Exercises

We offer adjunct exercise protocols to our patients to support in-office treatment at home.  Exercises are available through our digital portal by Physitrack® and offer written and audiovisual demonstrations. Our doctors are also available to answer questions to help you move your best.

Orthotics + Bracing

Orthotics and Bracing are used to provide additional support to your body. The purpose is not to replace movement or limit exercise. Rather, we use these devices to help patients become more aware of their movement. We are proud providers of PowerStep® ProTech Orthotics and PostureMedic® Posture braces.

Orthopedic Pillows

We offer quality orthopedic pillows at Spectrum Chiropractic. A good supportive pillow is always a great way to support your sleep habits. We are proud to offer our patients Pillowise® orthopedic pillows. They're designed and developed by healthcare providers to support neck anatomy; helping you sleep better.

Topical Analgesics

Soreness and aches are the worst. Sometimes quick relief is needed to offset soreness so you can keep going. Short-term muscle and joint aches can be aided with topical analgesics such as menthol. Spectrum Chiropractic proudly uses BIOFREEZE® Professional to assist in helping our patients feel better.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

In addition we provide Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) to further complement the other adjunct soft tissue therapies offered at Spectrum Chiropractic. We offer Graston® certified treatment to help assist the recovery and treatment of sports injuries.
